Moy Come From Five Down To Win
Saturday 14.09.2013

The term “proverbial game of two halves” is the only way to describe the second game in the double bill at Pearse Park on Saturday afternoon as Moy produced an outstanding display in the second period to oust Killyclogher on a 3-9 to 2-4 score line. The St.Marys had dominated the first half to deservedly lead by double scores at the break with Leo Meenan and James Carlin getting goals and Conal McCann and defender Declan Leonard among the points, Sean Cavanagh and Karol McQuade on target for the Tir na Ogs.
The second half saw a complete turnaround as Moy came from five points down to hold their opponents scoreless. The Cavanagh brothers Colm and Sean were outstanding for the winners as they began the second half in style, teenager Declan Conroy finding the roof of the net within fifty seconds of the restart. In the seventh minute Moy took a lead that they were never to lose when Ryan Mellon expertly tucked away a penalty after Sean Cavanagh had been fouled. Niall Conlon added a third major with Paul Rouse and substitute Ryan O’Neill supplying points as they set up a last eight meeting with Trillick.
