Moy Finish Strongly To Book Place In Quarter Final
Saturday 07.09.2024
Moy are through to the last eight of the Tyrone Intermediate championship following a 1-13 to 0-11 win over Naomh Eoghan at Loughmacrory on Saturday afternoon. The shooting accuracy of Moy full forward Michael Conroy was the difference between the sides as he helped himself to eight points and a three point win over the north Tyrone side.

An early goal from Ryan Conroy gave Moy the perfect start but thereafter both sides found it difficult to create scoring opportunities or get scores. Eoin Devine (2) and Conal Mc Conomy scored to keep their team in it but it was Moy with scores from sean Cavanagh and Matthew Laverty who reached the break 1-5 to 0-3 ahead.

The second half was tight and competitive with Moy scores coming from Conroy, Ryan Coleman and Sean Cavanagh to move four clear but Naomh Eoghan fired over points from Kevin Gallagher, Damian Coyle, and Piaras Mc Sorley to reduce the deficit to two points. The Moy men were forced into some last gasp defending but prevented their opponents from getting the goal they needed to really make a go of it.

Naomh Eoghan points from Devine, Mc Sorley and Michael Corliss had the gap down to two, 1-10 t0 0-11, but late scores from Conroy and Ryan Mc Alary secured the win and a place in the semi final of the championship on a final score of 1-13 to 0-11.
