Moy Win Minor Title
Sunday 15.10.2023

Moy are grade three Minor championship winners for 2023 after they overcame a gallant Naomh Eoghan side in an entertaining final at Healy Park on Sunday afternoon, 3-17 to 2-11 the final scoreline.
The winners got off to the best possible start with 1-3 without reply inside the opening five minutes and they never looked back. Man of the match Cathaoir Hughes (2) and Ryan McCance got their points with midfielder Matas Rumsevicius grabbing the goal. Conor Langan opened Naomh Eoghan’s account and after Diarmuid Quinn and Joe Quinn had exchanged points Rumsevicius got a second Moy goal. Naomh Eoghan came straight down the field for left half back Dabhag McNamee to score a goal as play swung from end to end. Rumsevicius and McNamee swapped points before Hughes got a third goal for Moy. In first half injury time Bobby Gillespie got a Naomh Eoghan major to leave it 3-8 to 2-5 at the interval.
Moy made sure that their opponents weren’t going to mount a comeback as they landed the opening four points of the second half from Hughes, Rumsevicius, Quinn and Ryan McAlary. Langan responded with a free for Naomh Eoghan but Moy continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over with points from Hughes, Patrick McGeary and Eoghan McGlone as they emerged deserving winners on the day.
