Mulligan Commits to Fulham Irish
Tuesday 31.01.2017
London side Fulham Irish have got a major shot in the arm following confirmation this afternoon that they are about to secure the services of three time All Ireland Senior Football medallist Owen Mulligan. The Cookstown man in believed to be moving across to London within the next fortnight to take up work in the city. Mulligan may be nearing the end of his playing career but he has kept himself in decent shape and will be a huge boost for a Fulham Irish side that will be aiming to win back the senior championship for the first time since 2011. He has won Vocational Schools, Minor, U21 and Senior medals including two All Ireland Intermediate club titles with his home club Cookstown Fr Rock’s.
There is a possibility that Mulligan could use his time in London to make a push for the London county side but for now it appears that he will be devoting his efforts to the Fulham based side. Fulham Irish have a strong link to this part of the world. In 2015 Peter Canavan and Benny Hurl managed the senior football side while the current chairman is Eskra native Seamus McNelis.
