Coalisland Fianna 4-14

Rock St Patricks 1-6

A first half scoring blitz of 4-10 provided Coalisland with the perfect foundations as they eased through to the junior final against Edendork following a comfortable win over Rock. The St Patrick’s worked hard throughout and outscored the Fianna 1-6 to 0-4 in the second half but the damage was already done as Laura McNally hit two goals with majors from Caoimhe Quinn and Nicole Murphy.

Mc Nally impressed alongside Murphy but overall the Fianna were just too strong in all sectors. They will be concerned though at that second half return with only a McNally brace and one apiece from Caoimhe Quinn and Morgan Quinn to show for their efforts.

Badoney 3-11

Edendork  4-11

This semi-final came down to the wire with the St Malachy’s doing just enough to nudge themselves into the junior final against a hotly tipped Badoney. key forward Meave Maxwell scored 1-10 for Edendork over the hour. In spite of Sinead Mc Geary and Laura Kelly hitting first half goals the eventual winners trailed at the break by two.

Maxwell and Kelly scored early goals but in a blistering ending to the half  Niamh Mc Connell, Kerrie Mc Garvey and Dearbhla Mc Donald all found the net to leave Badoney in front.

Maxwell hit three quick points before a well taken Mc Garvey point had it all square. Goalkeeper Eimear Mc Connell then denied Maxwell from the penalty spot with a great save. The Gortin based side though struggled to get scores themselves as the half went on. A single point from the boot of Kerrie Mc Garvey early in the half was all they had to show over a near twenty minute spell while Edendork  managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Eva Corr was on hand to slam home a crucial fourth goal with ten minutes to go and St Malachy’s led by five points. The North Tyrone side rallied again. Aoife Daly landed a point from play and Mc Donald steered over a difficult free to leave just a score between them but time ran out with St Malachy’s holding out for the win.
