This week its the turn of Pomeroy midfielder Ryan Loughran to take the Murphys Gloves Q + A

1. Earliest GAA memory

It was probably watching the 2004 Pomeroy senior team that won the Tyrone and Ulster Intermediate Club Football Championship

2. Who has been the biggest influences on your career?

I would say club teammates and managers down the years

3. The best GAA venue you have played at?

Lucky enough to get a run out Croker which is hard to top

4. School participation and/or success.

When I moved  to Holy Trinity in Cookstown I had success in winning the Markey cup and went on to make an All-Ireland final in Croke Park

5. Club/ County role models that you looked up to as a youth

Kieran McKenna, Denver Nugent and Ollie McCreesh were good role models and are still playing the game….at the age of 40

6. Other sports that you played or had an interest in.

Would of liked playing pool – Frank Burns, Denver Wallace and Gavin Goodfellow were on the end of many whitewashes!!

7. Who do use play this Sunday and how tough do you think it will be?

Killyclogher away…says it all really

8. Best player you have ever seen play Gaelic football

Clifford or Connolly comes to mind

9. If you could replay one game in your career which one would it be and why?

I’d say the championship semi final against Errigal Ciaran a couple of years ago when we were fine margins away from a county senior final

10. The best GAA match that you ever saw.

2013 All-Ireland semi final against Kerry and Dublin…the highlights have been watched a few times since on YouTube

11.What was the most memorable match that you ever played in?

Winning the Tyrone intermediate championship with our senior team

12. Apart from playing do you have any other involvement around the club.

I don’t have much involvement at the minute but hopefully someday I’ll get a chance to coach and help out some of the youth teams and give back a bit to the club

13. How  much are you looking forward to football returning?

Thank God it’s only around the corner now. Great to be back playing with your friends and really looking forward to another chance of playing grade 1 football.

14. Favourite county jersey (not Tyrone)

15. Are you a fan of penalties to decide the outcome of  championship games?

I wouldn’t be let hit one with feet like mine anyway but I wouldn’t be a fan no
