St.Patrick’s Academy Dungannon began their Nannery Cup campaign at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena on Friday afternoon when they lost out in a high scoring encounter to St.Pat’s Maghera. The Tyrone lads raced into an early three point lead with scores from Brendan Haveron, Ryan McGee and Ethan Burns only for Maghera to hit 1-3 without reply. Back came Dungannon with points from Conor O’Neill, Tiernan Teague and Brendan McKay and goals from Haveron and McKay but it was the Derry lads who finished the half the stronger to establish a lead that they were never to lose. In the second half Dylan Woods found the net for the Academy but it wasn’t enough to prevent them from slipping to defeat. Omagh CBS and St.Michaels Enniskillen are also in this section with the top two qualifying for the semi finals.
