The grade two under sixteen hurling championship final between NCC Dúiche Néill and Cappagh drew a large crowd to Pairc Eire Óg on Tuesday evening and served up an incredibly exciting and close game that hung in the balance right up to the final seconds.

With Cappagh leading by two points  and time all but up the East Tyrone lads cleared their lines and launched one final desperate attack that was finished to the net by Thomas Loughran to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for the NCC Dúiche Néill lads.

Both teams deserve great credit for the quality of hurling and the skill shown throughout the game. The sides were level at the break Cappagh 1-4 NCC 0-7 and were tied at full time when Daithi Mc Mullan plundered a goal for Cappagh to take the game to extra time.

After two ten minute periods of highly competitive action Cappagh looked set to claim the title before NCC Dúiche Néill wing back Thomas Loughran found the net with the last touch of the game.

Final score: NCC Dúiche Néill 1-18 Cappagh 3-10

Scorers: NCC DN Callum Jackson 0-14, Fionn Daly 0-2, Aodhan Donnelly 0-2, Thomas Loughran 1-0

Cappagh: Thomas Meenan 2-2, Daithi Mc Mullan 1-1, Shea Mc Ginn 0-3, Ciarnan Devine 0-3, Charlie Meenan 0-1
