Dungannon Eoghain Ruadh 0-9 – Naomh Colum Cille 2-13

Naomh Colum Cille will face Carrickmore Eire Og’s in the Tyrone Senior Hurling Championship Final next month after getting the better of Dungannon in tonight’s semi final at Galbally.

The Cille’s struck for an early goal to set the tone for the evening and, by the final whistle, they were full value for their victory over a very youthful Eoghain Ruadh side. Rory O‘Neill continued his goal scoring form as he helped his side into a match winning 2-7 to 0-4 half time lead. Cathal McErlean and Tiernan Morgan accounting for the Dungannon tally in half one, while the losing full back line of Daniel McCrudden, Ryan Winters and Conor McNally hurled their hearts out.

Damien Casey, Ciaran McCrudden and Morgan added second half points for Dungannon, but a hungrier Naomh Colum Cille side were not to be denied their first ever Tyrone Senior Hurling Final appearance, as they rattled over a succession of well taken points to secure a deserving victory.

Naomh Colum Cille in their 25th year of existence will be determined to challenge Carrickmore for the Benburb Cup, while Dungannon will now enter the Junior Championship.

Eoghain Ruadh will meet the winners of this Saturday’s Junior semi final between Strabane Shamrock’s and Cappagh Gaels. That semi final encounter takes place, at Newtownstewart on Saturday and, you can keep up to date with all the news here on Teamtalkmag.com
