Naomh Eoghan Upset The Odds

Naomh Eoghan made the trip to Father Campbell Park on Thursday evening for a D2 encounter and they upset the odds with a superb 1-17 to 2-13 win over a fancied Coalisland side. The Fianna edged the opening half with Peter Herron, Cathaoir Quinn, Tiernan Quinn, Aidan McSorley and Conor Langan among the points for their respective sides. Sean L Corr found the net for the hosts early in the second half but Naomh Eoghan hit back to lead at the end of the third quarter thanks to points from Tiernan Mayse, McSorley and Langan. Corr then grabbed a second major but Ryan Mayse quickly replied at the other end of the field when raising a green flag before a Tiernan Quinn brace had Coalisland in front going into injury time. Naomh Eoghan though had the final say with a two point free from Conor Traynor winning the day for them.
