Newtownstewart completed the grade three U16 double when they won their league final replay against Brackaville at Eskra on Saturday afternoon. The St.Eugenes laid the platform for their win in the first half as they established a 1-4 to 0-2 lead with Niall Mayse getting their goal and Daryl McGuigan and Shane Ashenhurst contributing points. In the second half Che O’Donnell and Rian McHugh had Brackaville points but an Aidan McSorley goal kept Newtownstewart in control and despite Brackaville scoring a late major from David McConville it was the St.Eugenes who triumphed on a 2-9 to 1-8 score line.
