As a family the Devlin’s have helped form and develop the GAA in Tyrone and beyond. Noel Devlin was an incredible force of nature both on and off the green fields of Ireland. Noel was an all-round sportsman and as well as a brilliant footballer and hurler he was also a very accomplished greyhound trainer who enjoyed huge success around the racing tracks of Ireland, with many a coup pulled along the way. Noel was small in stature but this belied the fact he was simply a giant of a man in every way. Noel’s legacy is a rich one leaving behind a family and a community that is steeped in Dungannon Clarkes, his beloved Eoghan Ruadh hurling club, Tyrone and Ulster GAA. The GAA was founded on volunteerism and Noel walked that road during a lifetime of service and devotion to the association at all levels. One of the greatest Gaels and Irish men that ever lived, Noel served his club, county, province and country with immense pride and outstanding commitment. Mere words wouldn’t nor couldn’t do justice to this fíor Gael. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
