Omagh Win Under 21 Semi Final.
Sunday 19.02.2012

Omagh St Endas are taking on Armagh champions Cullyhanna in the Ulster under21 club semi final and in a very entertaining first half of football have reached the break two points clear leading 0-09 to 0-07. The game ebbed and flowed in the opening period as both teams served up some excellent play. Omagh had Ronan O’Neill on fine scoring form landing 0-05 as the Tyrone champions reached the 25th minute a point up 0-07 to 0-06. However Cullyhanna drew level with an Adrian Nugent point and came close to taking the lead when a forty five sailed narrowly wide. However the Omagh lads held their nerve and points from Barry Tierney and Arron Grugan ensured they reached half time leading by two.
The second half has been nip and tuck with both sides enjoying good possession but few chances. With sixteen minutes gone Omagh lead 0-11 to 0-09 following two points from the boot of Arron Grugan while Cullyhanna’s two second half scores have come from Conor Nugent and Tony Donnelly.
Cullyhanna continue to play well and with the game entering thirty minutes the sides are now level 0-13 each. Omagh show considerable composure and a late game winning point from Cormac O’Neill ensures that the Tyrone champions make it through to the Ulster final on a score line of 0-14 to 0-13.
