Omagh And Sperrin Og Progress In The Championship.

Omagh and Sperrin Og emerged victorious after tonight’s championship matches in Ballinamullen. Sperrin Og had a facile win over their neighbours and rivals Badoney in the junior competition. Indeed such was the dominance of the Greencastle based outfit that Badoney only managed to open their account very late in the game The final score in the game was Sperrin Og 7-10 Badoney 1-1.
Omagh and Trillick on the other hand served up a much closer game in their Intermediate clash as the industrious Sarah Donnelly helped her side close the gap to three points ten minutes into the second half. Omagh had led 1-5 to 0-4 at the break but in terms of possession and chances created were much the better side throughout and with Michaela O’Neill in fine scoring form landing 1-6 for her side Omagh progressed to the final on a score line of Omagh 1-12 Trillick 0-6. Omagh’s other scorers were Emma Collins 0-2, Teri Mc Cullagh 0-2 and a point each from Hayley Ballard and Cara Mc Crossan while Trillick’s scores came from Fiona Donnelly 0-3, N Donnelly 0-2 and a point from Nuala Kelly.
