Omagh CBS Awarded Oisin Mc Grath Title

Omagh CBS left the field at Kildress on Wednesday evening unsure if they would be required to play extra time on the night or replay the final of the Oisin Mc Grath tournament the following Monday evening. This in spite of the fact that when the final whistle sounded Omagh had a two point lead.
With the quality and pace of the game it was no wonder there was some confusion about the scoreboard midway through the second half. At the final whistle the referee had the game down for a draw and was considering starting extra time. With the light fading and discussions continuing it was decided to go with the replay option and view the recording of the game the next day.
The result of the various discussions and viewings saw Maghera agree that Omagh had indeed won the game and the South Derry school issued a statement on Thursday evening congratulating Omagh on their success.
