Danske Bank Corn na nÓg semi-final
Omagh CBS 2-14 Abbey CBS 3-9

Three late points from PT Cunningham, Cian Mallon and Oisin Donnelly turned impending defeat into victory for Omagh CBS in this excellent Danske Bank Corn na nÓg semi-final in Derrylaughan yesterday.

Although Omagh had a lot of possession during the opening half they still trailed Abbey at the break by 2-5 to 1-4.  Ronan Fagan and Jason Sloan scored the Abbey goals while Oisin Donnelly hit the net for Omagh.

The Tyrone side began to make their presence felt midway through the second half and, helped by a goal from Eoghan Keenan, they surged four points clear with 10 minutes left.

Abbey struck back with a goal from Luke O’Connor sandwiched between points from Blaine McGrath and Shea Conlon and they went a point up with the clock ticking down.

However they lost possession at midfield and Omagh broke to equalise through PT Cunningham, while Mallon and Donnelly finished the job with late points.

The second semi-final takes place this afternoon in Culloville with St Colman’s Newry favoured to beat St Macartan’s Monaghan and make it a repeat of last season’s Dalton final next week.
