Omagh CBS Get First Point Of Mac Rory Campaign
Saturday 05.11.2011

Omagh CBS got their 2011 Mac Rory Cup campaign off the ground with a hard earned but deserved draw against old rivals St Pats Maghera at Derrytresk this afternoon. The South Derry lads started the game strongly and had built up a five point 0-06 to 0-01 lead midway through the first half. However Omagh regrouped and with scores from Ryan Mayse, Dara Cavanagh and half back Colm O’Neill had narrowed the gap to a point by half time. Maghera began the second half in fine form and extended their lead to 0-08 to 0-05 early in the half but a Colm Mc Crory free and a fine point from Colm O’Neill drew the sides level. A thirteen metre free from Neil Mc Nicholl looked to have won it for Maghera but Collie Mc Crory showed tremendous composure to land a long range free in injury time and earn his side a share of the spoils in what was a real cracker of a game between two very evenly matched teams. Final score Omagh CBs 0-10, Maghera )-10.
