It’s Enniskillen who make it through to the semi finals of this year’s Mac Rory cup following a one point win over their great rivals Omagh CBS on a score line of 1-12 to 1-11 . It took a point blank save from their keeper right at the death to deny Omagh what would have been a deserved win. The Brothers found themselves two down early in the second half but inspired by Ryan Mayse, Cormac O’Neill and Ruairi Bradley they drew level and then moved ahead to lead by three. However it was the Fermanagh lads who finished strongly to edge ahead. Referee Mc Quillan played very little injury time, much to the annoyance of some of the Omagh followers and Enniskillen held on to win by one getting revenge for their Mc Cormick Cup loss to Omagh in December. So there will be no Tyrone interest in the semi finals of this year’s Mac Rory Cup.

FIRST HALF REVIEW

St Michael’s Enniskillen led 1-05 to 1-04 at the break in this Mac Rory Cup quarter final following a very exciting and evenly fought first half. The Enniskillen lads made the perfect start with a goal after fifteen seconds but Omagh recovered to lead after five minutes following a point from Ruairi Bradley and a converted penalty from Ryan Mayse after Bradley had been hauled down while heading for goals. Both sides were playing some fine football at this stage and by the 17th minute Omagh led 1-04 to 1-03 following another free from Bradley. However Enniskillen rallied and with Courtney showing good accuracy from the placed balls edged ahead 1-05 to 1-04 at the short whistle. It is beginning to heat up and with thirty minutes to play and a place in the semi final at stake the second half is bound to be tasty.
