Omagh CBS collected the McCormack Cup at the Athletic Grounds on Saturday evening when they turned in an impressive display to overcome St.Patrick’s Armagh on a 1-17 to 0-9 scoreline.

It took Armagh until the 19^th minute to open their account via Justin Kieran but by that stage the winners were well on top as they had registered 1-6. Aidan McConnell, Mark Hayes, Tom Donaghy, Daniel Fullerton and Cormac McBride got their points with Sean McDonagh brilliantly chipping a goal in the 16^th minute. Kieran, Ruairi McDonald and Dillon Horsfield had Armagh points with Liam Gray on target for Omagh to leave it 1-8 to 0-5 at the break.

Donaghy and Kieran exchanged points on the restart before Gray and Fullerton knocked over frees for Omagh CBS. In the 9^th minute of the second half Armagh were awarded a penalty when Kieran was fouled but the same player sent his effort wide from the spot. A goal at that stage may have left things closer but Omagh made good their escape. Gray converted a few frees with McDonagh also on target as they ran out comfortable winners in the end.
