Omagh CBS 3-13 St Eunan’s Letterkenny 0-01

Omagh CBS met St Eunan’s Letterkenny in the Rannafast Cup play-off game on Thursday afternoon in a game which turned out to be a rather one sided affair.

Huge credit to Drumquin Wolfe Tones who hosted the game with their pitch in pristine condition. Naomh Eoghan referee Stephen McNamee took charge of the fixture.

The Donegal outfit set themselves up quite defensively from the start and displayed a reluctance to engage in open play. Even though they were playing with the aid of a strong breeze they remained defensive throughout the opening thirty minutes.

The Letterkenny outfit only managed a single point from a well taken mark and the rest of the game was dictated by the dominant and very impressive maroon jerseys of Omagh CBS. The game was over as a contest at HT; score Omagh CBS 2-06 St. Eunan’s 0-01.

Omagh had the advantage of the elements in the second period and continued to pick off some great scores, Kieran McDonagh in particular playing well in his home pitch with 1-01. Ryan Baxter from Drumragh and Beragh’s Eoghan Donnelly in defence for CBS thwarted numerous attacks, with Igor Samulewicz impressive at fullback. The midfield pairing of Cathal Cunningham and Paudi Goodman dominated all aerial battles.
