Omagh St Endas deservedly claimed the Grade 1 Under 19 title following a 1-9 to 1-5 win over neighbours Killyclogher at Pairc Naomh Eoghan Newtownstewart on Sunday afternoon.

In spite of playing into the breeze Omagh bossed most of the first half and after fourteen minutes had opened up a 0-3 to no score lead with a brace of points from the elusive Ciaran Mc Ardle and a fine strike from centre forward Oisin Miller.

A strong run and fine finish from Gavin Potter opened Killyclogher’s account before man of the match Callum Daly made it 0-5 to 0-1 for Omagh with two well crafted points for his team. Patrick Corcoran clipped over Killyclogher’s second point of the game as we approached half time but Ronan Strain restored the four point differential with the final score of the half.

Killyclogher opened the second half scoring with a second point from Corcoran before Omagh plundered a goal with a strong finish from wing back Eoin Mc Anulla to leave Omagh leading 1-6 to 0-3.

Gavin Potter raised Killyclogher’s hopes with a much needed point before the same player sent a high ball into the Omagh goalmouth causing alarm in their defence. Sub Tom Cunningham managed to smash the ball to the net and suddenly it was game on.

That goal rattled Omagh temporarily but the presence of Callum Daly, Oisin Miller, Fionbharr Taggart and Joe Miller steadied the ship. Potter added a further point to the Killyclogher tally but Omagh finished confidently with further points from the impressive Ronan Strain and Daly to claim the title on a score of 1-9 to 1-5.
