In a highly exciting and entertaining game at Healy Park Omagh St Endas enjoyed a narrow victory over their great rivals Errigal Ciaran in the Under 16 League on a score line of 1-14 to 1-12. It was end to end football for the hour as both sides produced some top drawer play in a match that was only decided by a very late goal from the hosts. Omagh had led seven points to two at the break with their scores coming from Michael Flanagan 0-3, Aaron Mc Cuthcheon, , Diarmuid O’Doherty, Jude Campbell and Thomas Clarke. However St Endas were more than a little indebted to goalkeeper Niall Mc Crory whose athleticism and shot stopping ensured that his team went into the break in a commanding position.
It was the visitors who started the second half on top and were soon level at eight points each following good work from Cavanagh, Niall Kelly and Patrick O’Neill. There was little between the teams throughout the second half but when Erigal scored a goal from Eoin Kelly with minutes left it looked like the visitors would go home with the points. However Omagh refused to give up and driven on by Pauric Murphy, Campbell, Mc Cutcheon and Flanagan pressed hard for the equaliser. They were rewarded when Thomas Clarke finished brillianlty to leave the final score 1-14 to 1-12 in favour of StEndas.
