Omagh and Ardboe served up a high quality and exciting Ladies Intermediate Championship Final on Thursday evening at Kildress. Right from the throw in the exchanges were tough, competitive and uncompromising as both teams sought to make a good start.

With both defences on top it took almost ten minutes before Omagh eventually opened the scoring with a Hayley Ballard point. Four more points followed as the St Endas girls began to dominate the game although they were thankful on more than one occasion for the safe handling of their very talented goalkeeper Ann Cunningham. In spite of several missed chances Ardboe refused to throw in the towel and with captain Karen Quinn, Claire Muldoon, Ciara Rocks and Rebekah Forbes finding their form the Rossas showed great heart and spirit to reach the break trailing by three 0-7 to 0-4.

Ardboe began the second half strongly but once again failed to capitalise on the possession they were enjoying and the chances they created. The Rossas were beginning to get on top but Colleen Mc Cullagh, Christiane Hunter, Charmaine Gormley and Nicola Donnelly defended with great authority to turn the tide in favour of Omagh. After Ardboe closed the gap to a single point in the forty fourth minute Omagh hit five unanswered points as they made good use of their bench. Points from Colleen Mc Cullagh, Mollie Woodhead, Clodagh Mullan and Mairean Quinn ensured the title was going west as Omagh recorded a deserved 0-13 to 0-8 win.
