The rain stayed away, Thanks Thady !! as we gathered at O’Neill’s Healy Park to dedicate our stand

to the memory of Thady Turbett. A legend among the gaels of Tyrone, Ulster and Ireland. The goalkeeper with the cap who won six Tyrone senior championship medals and coached hundreds of young footballers to success while being a genuine dedicated family man.

We celebrated his life on Saturday with his family , friends, former players and gaels from all over Ireland . St Eugene’s Brass and Reed band added to the occasion with Fr Peter and Fr Brian and the members of St Enda’s and Enniskillen Gaels.

Club President Hugh Crawford was joined on the rostrum by Tyrone President Cuthert Donnelly, Ulster Councils Garett Coyle, Thaddeus Turbett and our Chairman Declan Mc Girr all  brought together seemlessly by Paddy Hunter our communications officer.

Our wee sub committee headed by Conor Sally with Paddy Mc Mahon senior, Hugh Crawford, Nicola Canavan, Paddy Hunter and the Turbett family worked with Niall Laird, Signal Signs, Patsy Kerlin and John Quinn to bring this plan together and we thank them and our caretaker Shane for their hard work.

It was a memorable day, a special day, emotional and fitting, an historic day.
