Omagh St Endas claimed the Division One Reserve Knockout title when they defeated neighbours Killyclogher in front of a large crowd at Loughmacrory on Sunday afternoon 2-17 to 1-14.

Both sides produced some highly entertaining football but ultimately the loss of a man to a red card for Killyclogher and the introduction of substitute Ciaran Mc Ardle for Omagh eight minutes into the second half decided the outcome of the game.

Omagh started well with early points from Adam Groogan and Antain Mc Ginn as they opened up a 0-7 to 0-2 lead after eleven minutes. Points from the impressive Oran Toal and Mattie Howe got Killyclogher back in the contest. Further points from Howe and Lachlan Meenan reduced the gap to one as Omagh temporarily lost their way.

However Omagh finished the half strongly with points from Ben Groogan and Tom Donaghy to lead 0-9 to 0-6 at the break.

Killyclogher began the second half well in spite of being down to fourteen players. Oran Toal fired to the net to put them ahead for the first time in the game. Niall Mc Crory converted a free to level things again but Killyclogher responded with points from Nathan O’Neill and Mattie Howe to take the lead once more.

Points from Conan Campbell and Eoghan Mc Namee put Omagh in front again before Tiarnain Campbell scored a goal with an audacious chip. The same player added a fine point as Omagh threatened to pull away but points from Howe and a two pointer from Oran Toal kept Killyclogher in the game. With three points between the sides Killyclogher pushed for the levelling score but a Dan Haigney goal from a last minute counter attack secured the win and the title for Omagh.

Final score Omagh 2-17, Killyclogher 1-14.
