Omagh St Endas produced a very well organised and determined second half performance to add the Under 21 title to the senior championship one they picked up a couple of weeks ago.

The county town side found themselves locked in a real battle with Carrickmore as the sides reached the break tied at four points apiece . Both defences were very much on top in the opening half and scoring chances were limited. Rory Mc Bride (0-3) and James Mullan were on target for Omagh while Ruairi Donaghy, Dara Fox and Sean Loughran ensured their side reached the break in a strong position. However the black carding of Carmen midfielder Ronan Grogan was to prove significant in the mid field battle after the break.

Carrickmore had the advantage of the elements for the second half but their profligacy in front of goal cost them dearly. The men in green and gold hit eight wides from very scorable positions as Omagh made great use of their possession and opened up a four point lead midway through the half following scores from Mc Bride (2), Kieran Mc Laughlin and man of the match Conor Meyler. The Omagh number eleven was outstanding throughout but his ability to win ball and control the game ensured his side always had a n outlet when they were under pressure in the second period. Cormac O’Neill, Darren Mc Menamin, Mc Laughlin, Meyler and second half sub Thomas Clarke were superb for the winners who produced a very disciplined showing to secure the title on a 0-10 to 0-6 scoreline.
