Omagh Win Grade One U21 Title
Sunday 04.12.2011

Omagh were crowned grade one U21 champions after a comfortable 0-15 to 1-5 success over Donaghmore at Father Hackett Park on Sunday afternoon. The St.Patricks had the wind at their backs in the first half and they led early on thanks to points from Daniel Toner and Peter McKenna but Omagh turned things around to lead 0-5 to 0-3 at the break with Conan Grugan, Shane O’Neill and Ronan O’Neill getting points. In the second half Omagh took over with a series of points from Shane O’Neill, Grugan and substitute Caolan McCrossan and by the time that Donaghmore got their goal from a Matthew McGahan penalty late on it was only a consolation score. Omagh now go forward to the Ulster U21 tournament hosted by the Creggan club in Antrim were they will hope to go one better than two years ago when they lost out to Down champions Burren in the final.
