O’Neill In A Race Against Time.
Tuesday 05.07.2011

Tyrone’s trip to Pearse Park in Longford will mean a return to a venue where the county has recently enjoyed its fair share of good fortune. The 2008 All Ireland Minor title was won there after a replay against a talented Mayo side while Cookstown also won an All Ireland Club semi final there on their way to lifting The All Ireland Intermediate club title in 2009. Mickey Harte knows that his team faces quite a challenge as they seek to get their All Ireland campaign back on track. With several key individuals returning from injury the manager’s only real concern surrounds the fitness of Stevie O’Neill. The Clan na Gael man has not trained since the provincial semi final defeat and has been restricted to doing some fitness work on the bicycle. It is unlikely that the ace marksman will start this game but apart from that enforced change it would be unlikely that the manager will make many other changes to the team narrowly defeated by Donegal. Should that be the case the red hands boss will have possibly the strongest bench ever available to a Tyrone manager with Enda Mc Ginley, Justin Mc Mahon, Tommy Mc Guigan, Colm Cavanagh and Damien Mc Caul all available for inclusion.
