Omagh CBS 2-16 St.Pauls Bessbrook 0-9
Omagh CBS outscored opponents St.Pauls Bessbrook 2-9 to 0-4 in the second half at St.Pauls in Lurgan to begin the defence of their MacRory Cup title with a convincing win in the end.
The Tyrone school were the better side throughout but their finishing as well as taking wrong options let them down in the first half. Ruairi McCullagh, Charlie Donnelly and Niall McCarney all weighed in with a brace each with Liam Of Mossey also on target to leave it 0-7 to 0-5 at the break, Fergal Boylan with three fine marks for Bessbrook with Eoin Kane also on target.
In the early stages of the second half the holders assumed control with full forward Paudi Dillon firing in a brace of goals within sixty seconds of each other. Boylan and Eoghan McKeever replied for the Armagh lads but it was Omagh who now had the hit between their teeth McCullagh adding another four points and Mattie Howe and Callum Daly also on target as they won with plenty to spare.
