The second game in the double bill at Carrickmore on Sunday evening saw Clonoe and Dromore renew their rivalry and despite the difficult weather conditions both sides served up a cracker in front of a bumper crowd.

The game was keenly contested from first whistle to last with the O’Rahillys coming from four points down late on to win the day on a 1-10 to 0-12 scoreline and set up a last eight meeting with Pomeroy. It was the St.Dympnas who shaded the opening half 0-6 to 0-5 with Ruairi Sludden, Eoin McCusker and Emmett McNabb among their points, Declan McClure, Dwayne Quinn and Danny McNulty on target for Clonoe.

Ronan McNabb and Sludden edged Dromore three clear within three minutes of the restart and when Sludden finished off a flowing move to split the posts again the St.Dympnas looked to be well on top. McClure pointed from play as well as from a free but Emmett McNabb left it 0-11 to 0-7 with six minutes of normal time left to play.

Connor McAliskey had entered the fray for Clonoe at this stage and another McClure free left them within striking distance. With two minutes to go Patrick Doris fired in a brilliant goal to the bottom left hand corner of the net to level matters. McClure’s seventh point of the night put Clonoe in front before half back Quinn left two between the sides. Sean McNabb closed the gap to the minimum but Clonoe held on.
