O’Rahillys Into Minor Championship Final

Clonoe upset the odds with a fully merited 0-9 to 0-5 victory over a fancied Cookstown side at Father Devlin Park Donaghmore on Wednesday evening to qualify for the grade one minor championship final. The O’Rahillys were the better side throughout and led 0-5 to 0-2 at the break with Declan McClure, Danny McNulty and Ryan Morgan among their points, Barry Potter with two successful frees for the Father Rocks. Clonoe will feel that they should have been further in front had they taken their chances with McClure unlucky to see a thunderbolt come back off the bar. In the second half Gary McKenna and Potter reduced the deficit to the minimum but Clonoe weren’t to be denied with McClure, James O’Neill and Morgan all pointing to give them a superb victory.
