U14 Grade 3 Championship Final
Clonoe 8-12 Moy 2-11
Clonoe won the grade 3 U14 Championship title when a second half goal avalanche at Aghaloo saw them deny league winners Moy the double.
With just over twenty minutes gone Moy looked to be in control of things as they led 1-7 to 0-2 with Eoghan McGlone getting their goal and Harry Harvey, Ryan Fegan and McGlone their point scorers. The introduction of Tommy Taggart though changed the course of the game in favour of the O’Rahillys. The substitute hit 1-3 with other scores coming from TJ O’Neill, Daire Devlin and Michael Donnelly as they greeted the short whistle only one in arrears, 1-8 to 1-7.
Matas Rumsivivius scored an early second half goal for Moy to put them back in front but then Clonoe really took over. Donnelly was pushed into full forward from midfield with the introduction of Taggart and the Moy defence struggled to cope with his presence. It was Donnelly who got the equalising goal and when Feidhlim O’Hagan finished to the net moments later the winners never looked back.
Taggart and Donnelly tagged on points before O’Hagan centred for Donnelly to fist to the back of the net. O’Hagan then claimed his second goal before another major quickly followed from team Captain Eoghan Mansell. Harvey kicked three points on the trot for Moy but it was Clonoe’s day as Donnelly and Devlin added further goals late on.
