Owens Roes Build For The Future
Saturday 18.02.2012

On the field the Club’s youth team have collected three All County titles in the last two seasons, with the Club’s U14s pocketing grade three and grade two silverware in successive seasons, as the Club’s minor side lifted the grade 3 league title a few months back. With the Leckpatrick side also reaching finals at U13, U16 and U21 level over the period as well it augers well for the O’Neills. In addition the Club have put a big effort into ladies football over the last few years, and with both their U14 and U16 ladies reaching the last four of the Championship there are signs that this too is starting to bloom.
The big difficulty for most clubs is marrying the ability to manage both on the field success and development off it, but this is something that has gone hand in hand for Owen Roes. In June 2010 the Club finished off phase one of their development plan which saw a complete resurface of their main playing field, a brand new training pitch, and the installation of floodlights at the North Tyrone venue.
However the Club from Pairc an Ghleanna are not about to stand back and admire the work done so far. With some remedial work required, and a desire to get ready for the next phase of development the Club have recently launched a grand draw to position them on a sound financial footing for the next phase of development. The total prize pot for the draw stands at £64,000, with the overall grand draw winner earning £40,000. Tickets are now on sale priced at £100 with an ‘pay in’ option available. Anyone that requires tickets can do so by contacting a member of the Club (Joe Hegarty 07712668329, Sarah Jane Kelly 07753591175, or Galvin Early 028 71398398). The first draw is this Saturday night, where £1000 will be given away.
