Aghyaran 5-16 Donaghmore 2-6
Aghyaran turned in a powerhouse display to ease to a more than comfortable nineteen point win over a disappointing Donaghmore at St Patrick’s Park.

Despite a bright start with a Beth Moore goal and Rebecca Mc Crory point Donaghmore were soon on the back foot. Aimee Coyle rattled in 2-2. Caroline Byrne hit a goal and the impressive Sasha Byrne tagged on 0-4 in a first half blitz with the St Davog’s leading 3-6 to 1-6 at the break.
A quick Emma Hegarty goal four minutes after the restart closed the gap to four but Donaghmore were not to score again. The Byrne’s added a goal apiece and Coyle finished with 2-6 as Aghyaran kept the scoreboard ticking over throughout the second half.
This was a disappointing outing for Stephen Rice’s side who could not convert what possession they had into scores. The Aghyaran defence turned in an excellent shift but it was the clinical edge to their finishing that impressed.
Junior Football Championship
Fintona advanced to the junior semi-final with Aghaloo withdrawing.
