Paul Mc Girr Ulster Under 16 Championship Semi Finals This Weekend
Friday 11.11.2011

The first semi final of the Paul McGirr Ulster U16 Club Championship will take place this Saturday at 1:00 in Gardrum Park Dromore. It features the meeting of new tournament favourites O’Donovan Rossa from Belfast and Aodh Ruadh of Ballyshannon. After comprehensively defeating St. Patricks Donagh in the preliminary round Rossa then came from behind to defeat reigning champions Glen by two points in a tremendous game in the quarter final. Aodh Ruadh defeated Cavan champions Ramor United in their quarter final and will not be short in confidence coming into the game.
The second semi final of the Paul McGirr tournament takes place on Sunday at 12:00 pm between Down champions Rostrevor and Monaghan kingpins Scotstown. Scotstown were very impressive in their quarter final game in comprehensively defeating Armagh’s Clann Eireann. However they will come up against much stiffer competition when they face a physically strong Rostrevor team who defeated Coalisland last week by seven points. An eagerly awaited and tight contest is in store as both teams looks to secure their place in next Sunday’s Ulster Final.
