Killeeshil and Kildress defeated Brocagh and Castlederg respectively on Sunday to make it through to the Division Three Playoff which will take place on Sunday at Donaghmore.

The Wolfe Tones produced one of their best displays of the season to see off the challenge of Castlederg. The foundations for the win were laid during an impressive first half where Des Tracey, Aaron Loughran and Adam Connolly hit points in the opening quarter. Mark Corry and Stefan Gallen replied with points for the Derg but Kildress reached the break 0-8 to 0-2 ahead following four points from the boot of Mattie Mc Guigan and a second point from veteran Des Tracey.

Kikdress began the second half well when after a strong run in possession Mattie Mc Guigan’s cleverly chipped ball landed in the back of the net. Philip Lennon pointed immediately from the kick out and Castlederg’s heads dropped. Jack Ramsay pointed for the Derg but Kildress grew in confidence and added further points through Adam Connolly, Mattie Mc Guigan and Johnny Connolly before a brace of points from Gallen momentarily stirred the Derg. However it was Kildress who finished strongest with a couple of late Paul Connolly points to seal a memorable win and a place in the promotion playoff.

Killeeshil hit eighteen points in their impressive defeat of Brocagh to remain in the race for promotion from Division Three. Pascal Donaghy top scored with seven points for the winners while Michael O’Neill chipped in with 0-5. Tomas Hoy and Aaron Mc Kenna shared four points in a dominant Killeeshil display. Mickey Hughes top scored for the Emmetts with 0-4 while Tiernan O’Neill, James Mc Kiver and Mark Campbell were also among the points for the Loughshore side.
