An intriguing double bill is on the cards at Healy Park tonight as the opening round of the Power NI Intermediate championship continues. First into action is the derby meeting of Clann na Gael and Gortin which is sure to be keenly contested.

Both sides are struggling in the lower regions of the league table with eight points each but for sixty minutes at least they can put their troubles behind them as they attempt to reach the quarter finals. Gortin will look for big games from the likes of Kevin Mossey, Diarmuid McNulty, Kevin McCullagh and Brian McGarvey while Clann na Gael can call on the likes of Stephen O’Neill, Brian Dooher, Joe Ball and Ryan McGill.

The second game is a meeting of the black and ambers as Pomeroy and Loughmacrory go head to head. The Plunketts are having a superb season in the league while the St.Theresas are struggling but the championship of course is a great leveller. Key players for Pomeroy include Justin McCaffrey, Stephen McKenna, Ollie McCreesh and county minor Kieran McGeary while Enda Ward, Brendan Donaghy, Sean Paul Slane and Pearse Gallagher are all expected to feature for Loughmacrory.
