Tyrone booked their tenth All Ireland quarter final in the last thirteen years with the minimum of fuss when they proved too strong for beaten Connaught finalists Sligo at Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.

It was a game that Tyrone were always in control of as they set up a meeting with Ulster champions Monaghan back at headquarters next Saturday. Tyrone led by double scores at the break, 0-12 to 0-6, with the superb Darren McCurry landing five points and Connor McAliskey, Mattie Donnelly, Sean Cavanagh, Rory Brennan and Mark Bradley all on target as well.

Sligo closed the gap to four on the restart as Tyrone took time to get into their stride again but once they did there was only going to be one outcome. McCurry took his personal haul to 0-8, with Peter Harte, Donnelly, Bradley, Niall Morgan and the Cavanagh brothers Sean and Colm all pointing as well as it finished 0-21 to 0-14.
