Beragh 2-11 Na Doire Oga 3-6

The latest U14 League Final in Tyrone once again proved to be a cracking encounter with Beragh claiming the Grade 2 title after edging past a gallant Noa Doire Oga side at Donaghmore on Saturday afternoon.

It was Na Doire Oga who were the better side early on and they raced into a 1-2 to 0-1 lead with points from Ben O’Neill and Reegan McCuskey coming either side of a Fionn Rea goal. They could have been further in front but they missed a penalty. Gradually though Beragh began to come into the game and points from Matthew Meenagh, Aidan Farley, Ronan O’Loane and Ronan Conroy coupled with an Enda Teague goal saw them lead by the minimum at the break 1-4 to 1-3, Ben O’Neill with the last score of the half for Na Doire Oga.

Reuban Morgan levelled matters on the restart before a goal from Fiachna McCann put Na Doire Oga three in front. Beragh, inspired by Ghost Pizza man of the match Farley, then upped the tempo. Farley hit a brace with Meenagh also on target to leave it all square at the three quarter mark.

O’Neill and Farley exchanged points as did Meenagh and O’Neill to leave it 2-6 to 1-9 with only our minutes of normal time left to play. Farley took his personal haul to half a dozen with Pearse Morre getting a late goal and while Na Doire Oga did find the net again in injury time via O’Neill the young Red Knights held on.
