Reserve Final Finishes All Square

Kildress and Gortin couldn’t be separated on Sunday afternoon in the final of the division two Reserve championship at Pomeroy. Four Kevin McCullagh points helped the St.Patricks lead 0-4 to 0-3 at halftime, the Wolfe Tones having hit the opening three points of the contest with Sean Beggs among their points. In the second half McCullagh and Paddy Northern had further Gortin points but going into the final ten minutes it was Kildress who had their noses in front thanks to scores from Ciaran Corey, Martin Loughran and Eoin Brannigan. McCullagh drew the sides level and in a frantic finish Gavin Corey and Northern traded points, the latter’s score coming in the final attack of the game to deny the Wolfe Tones victory.
