Errigal Ciaran enjoyed a double success in Healy Park on Friday evening when they lifted both Division One and Division Three Reserve Knockout titles.

The Thirds team got the ball rolling with a hard fought win over a determined Castlederg outfit in the Division Three Final.

The winners raced into a six point lead early in the game with points from Nigel Loughran, Paul Mc Gourty and Pio Mc Dermott. Just when it looked like they were going to run away with the game, back came the Derg.

Points from Stefan Gallen and Conor Harper stemmed the tide as Castlederg began to enjoy more possession. However their comeback suffered a setback when Errigal’s Stephen Monaghan toe poked to the net to put his team 1-7 to 0-3 ahead three minutes into the second half.

Both teams enjoyed good spells in the second period and although Castlederg finished the game strongly Errigal were not to be denied and ran out deserving 1-11 to 0-9 winners.

The Division One Reserve Final was a very open game of football between two talented sides. The Dunmoyle outfit finished as deserving winners after a very impressive team display with defenders Corrigan, Hackett and Quinn hugely impressive. Stefan Tierney worked hard in midfield for his team while forwards Tommy Canavan and Damien Mc Dermott caused problems throughout the game for the overworked Omagh defence.

The margin of victory reflected the quality and depth of talent at Errigal’s disposal. However Omagh deserve great credit for their approach to the game and their hard work over the course of the sixty minutes.

Team captain Eoghan Rodgers was outstanding for his team while Ciaran Breen, Michael Flanagan, Damian Mc Guigan, Conor Mc Mahon and Dean O’Neill battled right to the end.
