Castlederg took inspiration from the memory of the recently deceased club man Paddy Devlin as they recorded a one point win over neighbour’s Drumquin. Sean Harper was in outstanding form hitting six points for the winners on a day when good football was extremely difficult. Stefain Derry was also on target for the Derg men.
Fintona came out on top in their derby clash with Drumragh on Sunday afternoon but it took a last minute fisted goal from Matthew Armstrongto snatch the win. The sides had been level Drumragh 1-8 to Fintona’s 0-11 and a draw looked likely as the game entered the closing stages. Drumragh’s ace marksman Shane Cleary bagged 1-1 for his team while Tom Murphy and Kevin Marron hit five points between them for the Sarsfields. Ace marksman Aaron Mc Carney and Thomas Mc Grath were on targetwith points for the winners.
A North Tyrone derby saw Glenelly defeat Owen Roes on a score-line of 1-7 to 1-5. Darragh Bradley bagged the goal for the winners while old warhorse Seamus Harkin landed three vital points. Colm Hicks, Ronan O’Kane and Eamon Mc Connell were also on target for the winners. Owen roes had led at the break 1-4 to 0-5 with their goal coming from Ricki Devine with points from Brendan Boggs and Ryan Devine. However Glenelly were the better side in the second half and deserved winners.
Dregish lost out narrowly to Errigal Ciaran 3rds on a final score of 1-12 to 2-7 in what was an entertaining game of football. David O’Reilly and Pete Mc Crossan both hit 1-1 for the Pearse Ogs while Aidan O’Kane landed a hat trick of points but it was not enough to deny Errigal the win and the points. Michael Harte scored five points for the Dunmoyle based men with Niall McCartan notching 1-2.
