There were a couple of big “reversals” in tonight’s reserve championship with the big game of course being Errigal Ciaran versus Carrickmore. It turned out to be a hugely competitive and high scoring game as the Dunmoyle lads enjoyed a measure of revenge winning 1-12 to 3-5. Errigal had been five points ahead at the break 1-9 to 1-4 but Carrickmore staged something of a second half comeback with Conal Mc Garrity hitting 2-1 and Darragh Maloney scoring 1-2 while Conor Daly also landed a few frees for the defeated Carmen side. Stevie Mc Crory, Niall Ward and Ryan Lynch were the star men for a very happy Errigal side who will now go into the quarter final draw as favourites for the title.
Meanwhile there was something of an upset in Healy Park where Donaghmore defeated Omagh 0-11 to 0-4 with Omagh failing to score in the second half. St Endas had been 0-4 to 0-3 up at the break but Donaghmore totally dominated the second half and ran out convincing winners. Playing at home Dromore overcame a determined effort from Moy to win 1-11 to 0-7. Dromore had built up a 1-7 to 0-2 lead at the break with their first half goal coming from Sean Muldoon. The second half was slightly more competitive as Dromore took their foot off the gas but they still managed to win convincingly. Other scorers were Aaron Mc Nulty 0-6, Colm Mc Rory 0-4 and Rory O’Neill 0-1. Fast disappearing daylight made conditions very difficult towards the end of some of these games.
