Ricey Looks Forward To Donegal Test
Tuesday 21.06.2011

Ryan McMenamin is in no doubt that defending champions Tyrone face a tough test against Donegal at Clones this Sunday. Donegal go into the game as Division Two league champions and have already put Antrim and Cavan to the sword in the championship and the Dromore man is looking forward to the challenge.
“They’ve looked good throughout the last couple of Championship games and throughout the League. They won Division Two and beat us down in Omagh by seven or eight points. They are looking to use the criticism they are getting to their advantage. Jim McGuinness is trying to instil a siege mentality among them and it seems to be working. They were twelve points up the last day before Cavan got a late penalty. They’re winning games easily at the moment. It’s going to be a massive challenge for us. If you don’t go by recent history and use recent form they’d be big favourites going into the game.
When you play county football you want to test yourself against great forwards and Donegal have one of the best forward lines in Ireland at the minute. When you think of it ‘Brick’ Molloy can’t even get into the starting fifteen and he scored 1-2 against us in the League. They’re a fantastic team. They’re a hard working team. For all the claims that they are defensive they are mounting up some good totals. But I think we have the players who can match them defensively. It will be an intriguing battle but you take these challenges as they come.”
