Rith 2012: 9 km Run – 9 th March’12 (Kildress-Cookstown) . TAKE THE CHALLENGE!
Everyone is welcome to run on this part of the course from Kildress to Cookstown. Kildress Wolfe Tones G.A.C. is delighted and proud to be taking part in Rith 2012, a new and innovative way for communities to celebrate the Irish
language and culture in a visual way across Ireland. Rith 2012 is a national Irish language festival that will take place between the 8-17 March 2012 during Seachtain na Gaeilge. A 1000km course has been laid out for a massive cross-county relay race, running from morning to night, starting in Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore, Donegal) to Inis Mór (Aran Islands, Co. Galway), over a 10 day period, with thousands of people taking part across the 200 towns/townlands. The groups who will take part in the Tyrone leg are; Bunscoil Cholmcille (Carrickmore) Cairde Ui Neill (Dungannon) Gaelscoil na gCrann (Omagh) Fr Rocks (Cookstown) , Sinn Fein, Holy Trinity Cookstown, St Joseph’s Grammar (Donaghmore), Gaelscoil Aodh Rua (Dungannon) Naíscoil Eoghain (Cookstown) and leading the way Kildress.
