Rock Defeat Brocagh To Claim League Points

Rock took on Brocagh on Thursday evening in the first fixture of the weekend and recorded an impressive 1-15 to 1-9 win.
In spite of the long lay off there was no sign of ring rustiness from either side as both teams produced some high quality football.
Liam Nugent once again proved his worth for the winners with a fine return of eight points. He was ably assisted by Aidan Mc Garrity who finished the game with 1-3 while Mark Ward and Shane Murphy both bagged a brace of points each.
Brocagh trailed by five at the break but began the second half well with a Cathal Donnelly goal. Unfortunately for them they were unable to build on their good start to the second period and Rock finished worthy six point winners. Ciaran Donnelly (5), Cathal Donnelly (1-1) and Mickey Hughes (3) did the scoring for the Emmetts.
