Drumquin arrived in Killyclogher on Saturday morning hoping to make it an under fourteen league and championship double but found Rock a tough nut to crack. Both sides had plenty of talent on view and the large crowd that turned up certainly got value for money.

The opening half was very close and competitive with both sides hitting the net twice. Drumquin opened the scoring with an early goal and a point from Cahir Cassidy but Rock  were quick to respond and playing wind assisted they hit two goals and three points without reply courtesy of  Aodhan Dynes and Danny Kerr with the goals and with points from Danny Kerr and Fionn Graham .

Drumquin replied with points from Corey Mc Elholm, Cahir Cassidy and Jamie Browne which saw the teams leaving the field with Rock four in front on a half time score of 2-7 to 2-3.

Rock got  the second half underway with a Danny Kerr point but it was Drumquin who looked the most dangerous as they made good use of the wind and created a number of good scoring chances.  Lorcan Donnelly and Robbie Diver missed narrowly before goals from Jamie Brown and Corey Mc Elholm had Drumquin momentarily in front 3-6 to 2-8.

Rock were then awarded a penalty which was well finished by Danny Kerr and the same player made it a two point game with a well struck free kick. Points from Daithi Mc Caffrey and Robbie Diver had the gap down to a single point with all to play for. Both sides went for it but it was Rock who finished the stronger adding two further goals from Fionn Graham and Bobby Bloomer to lift the title on a full time score of Rock 5-9, Drumquin 3-8.
