Rock Through To Ulster Semi Finals
Saturday 19.10.2019
Rock made the journey across the Sperrins to take on Glack in the first round of the Ulster Club series and cruised through to the last four of the Provincial Junior Championship on a final score of 2-15 to 0-6.
The Tyrone champions began well with a goal and three points inside the opening seven minutes. Liam Nugent and Shane Murphy converted frees before Conor Mc Garrity finished low and hard for his side’s first goal of the night.
Glack found the Rock defence in uncompromising mood and struggled to create scoring chances in a first half where Rock dominated but also shot ten wides. Aidan Mc Garrity, Shane Murphy, Liam Nugent and Padraig Ward all scored before wing back Ryan Morgan got the first Glack score of the game right on thirty minutes.
Half time score Rock 1-8, Glack 0-1
Glack were much more competitive after the break and opened the scoring in the second half through Eoin Mackey. Rock replied with 1-4 inside the next four minutes to put the game to bed. Aidan Mc Garrity added to his tally with a goal and two points before Conor Mc Garrity sent over point number eleven for the winners.
The Derry champions added four further points during the remainder of the half but Rock were never really troubled. Padraig Ward, Diarmuid Carroll, Enda Mallon and Aidan Mc Garrity all recorded points for their side as Rock eased to a comfortable 2-15 to 0-6 win
