ULSTER JFC | Roes Bow Out
Sunday 01.11.2015
Brackaville’s hopes of Ulster glory ended at the first hurdle at Healy Park on Sunday afternoon when they lost by the minimum margin against Derry champions Faughanvale. The Roes were the better side early on as they raced into a 0-5 to 0-2 lead with points from Joe Rafferty, Ciaran Gervin and wing back Dara McGuinness. The visitors though struck for a Joe Gray goal and it took a Che O’Donnell free to send Brackaville in level at the break 0-7 to 1-4.
Martin Gervin and Rafferty had points either side of a Paddy Gervin goal on the resumption to leave them three in front within six minutes. They failed to score again however with the impressive Kevin Martin landing the last four points of the game. There was no score in the last dozen minutes but the Roes had plenty of chances to at least force extra time but they failed to take them as it finished 1-10 to 1-9.
Brackaville scorers – Joe Rafferty 0-3, Paddy Gervin 1-0, Ciaran Gervin 0-2, Che O’Donnell 0-2, Dara McGuinness 0-1, Martin Gervin 0-1
Faughanvale scorers – Kevin Martin 0-6, Joe Gray 1-2, Stephen King 0-1, Eunan Murray 0-1
