Sacred Heart Omagh 3-5 St. Louis Kilkeel 1-7

Sacred Heart Omagh produced a fine second half display at Keady on Wednesday afternoon to overcome a battling St. Louis Kilkeel side to annex the Ulster Schools McDevitt Cup title.

The Down school led 0-5 to 0-3 at halftime thanks to points from Joel Rooney, Adam Killen, Corey Rooney and a brace from Fiachra Lynch, Oran McMenamin,  Garbhan O’Donnell and Caiden Harold were the marksmen for Sacred Heart.

St. Louis enjoyed a dream start to the second half when they opened the scoring with a Conor Haughian goal to put them five in front. Sacred Heart looked to be in trouble but they rolled up their sleeves with  Sean Gormley beginning the comeback with a goal before Conor Murray found the net twice either side of a point from Luke Patterson. Kilkeel had points from Lynch and Haughian but it was a goal that they needed and they were thwarted by keeper Ryan Mitniyk as Sacred Heart emerged as champions.
